Seminoe has 180 miles of shoreline and is one of the largest man-made reservoirs in Wyoming and the largest of the Wyoming State Parks system.
The world-famous Miracle Mile is actually a 5.5-mile stretch of the North Platte River fed by Seminoe Reservoir. It is an extremely fertile tailwater that offers anglers a chance to catch enormous trophy trout, and with approximately 4,000 fish per mile, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to catch the fish of a lifetime. This area is boatable but much more effective for wade-fishing.
The Pathfinder Reservoir a 22,000-acre lake known for its massive size and colossal walleye, trout and carp. Pathfinder hosts numerous professional walleye tournaments during the summer months and one of Wyomings largest ice fishing derbies the HAWG Ice Fishing Derby during the winter.

The “checkerboard” style map (shown above) shows part of the spread of sectioned land across the United States from Omaha Nebraska to Sacramento California that came from the construction of America’s first transcontinental railroad in the 1860s.
The railroad companies were granted a strip of land in the checkerboard for their railway all the way across the country, along with a grant of alternating square mile sections of land for twenty miles on each side of the tract.
Today, the checkerboard sections of land that were owned by the government are now part of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) agency that manages nearly 250 million acres of public land across the county.
